Jada is making circular birthday invitations for her friends. The diameter of the circle is 12 cm. She bought 180 cm of ribbon to glue around the edge of each invitation.

How many invitations can she make?

Answer:

4 invitations

Explanation:

diameter = 12 cm

radius = 6 cm

total ribbon = 180 cm

EDGE of invitation (circumference) = 2*pi*r

1 invitation = 12*pi cm of ribbon (i'll be using 3.14 as pi)

= 37.68 cm of ribbon

180/37.68 = 4.77707006369 invitation s

BUT! you can't have 0.777 of an invitation, so the most invitations she can make is 4

I hope this helped :)
