Where

r and h are the radius and the height of the cylinder

The formula for the volume of the cone is given by :


V_(cone)=(1)/(3)\pi r^2h ...(2)

From equation (1) and (2),


(V_(cy))/(V_(cone))=(\pi r^2 h)/((1)/(3)\pi r^2 h)\\\\=3\\\\V_(cy)=3* V_(cone)

So, the volume of the cylinder is 3 times the volume of the cone.
