Area of triangle = base x height x 1/2


Area of the shaded region:
= 22 x 13 x 1/2

= 286 x 1/2

= 143

Explanation:

( (23 * 13) / 2 ) - ( (13 * 13) / 2 ) = ( 299 / 2 ) - ( 169 / 2 ) = 149.5 - 84.5 = 65

Numbers are slightly unclear but I think this is right.
