Explanation:

1.(4,16) and (x,24)

4/16 = x/24

Now you will cross multiple to get a liner equation.

16x= 4×24

Now you will divide both sides by the coefficient of x which is 16.

16x/16=4×24/16

Now 16 will cancel 16 and the equation will be like this

x=4×24/16

Now 4 will cancel 16 to get 4 and the 4 at the the nominator will cancel 24 to get 6.

Therefore x = 6.

2.(3, 4) and (9, y)

3/4 = 9/y

cross multiple to get a linear equation.

3y = 4×9

Divide both sides by the coefficient of y.

3y/3=4×9/3

As a said before 3 will cancel 3 to make y stand alone.

y = 36/3

y = 12.

3.(3,18) and (x,30)

3/18 = x/30

18x = 3x30

18x/18 = 3×30/18

x = 5

Therefore x = 5.

4.(3,36) and (6,y)

3/36 = 6/y

3y = 6×36

3y/3 = 6×36/3

y = 216/3

y = 72

Therefore y = 72.

5.(3,39) and (x,65)

3/39 = ×/65

39x = 3× 65

39x/39 = 3×65/39

x = 5

Therefore x = 5.
