Answer:

Area = 152cm^2

Explanation:

Given

See attachment for the prism net

Required

Calculate the area

First, calculate the area of the two congruent triangle:

A_1 =2 * (1)/(2) * base * height

Where

base = 6cm\ height = 4cm

So:

A_1 =2 * (1)/(2) * 6cm * 4cm

A_1 =24cm^2

Calculate the area of the middle rectangle

A_2 = Length * Width

A_2 = 6cm * 8cm

A_2 = 48cm^2

Lastly, the area of the two congruent rectangles on both sides of the middle rectangle

A_3 = 2 * Length *Width

A_3 = 2 * 8cm * 5cm

A_3 = 80cm^2

So, the surface area of the net is:

Area = A_1 + A_2 + A_3

Area = 24cm^2 + 48cm^2 + 80cm^2

Area = 152cm^2
