Answer:

13 years

Explanation:

Let,

The sum of Ashton and Jack's age be = x

As given,

Age of Jack is = 12 years

So, age of Ashton should be = (x - 12) years

We know that,

4 times the sum of Ashton and Jacks age is 100

Therefore,

By the problem,

=> 4x = 100

  • [On dividing both sides with 4]

=>
(4x)/(4) =
(100)/(4)

  • [On simplification]

=> x = 25

Since,

Sum of Ashton and Jack's age as we got is 25 years

Hence,

Age of Ashton is

= (x - 12) years

= (25 - 12) years

= 13 years (Ans)
