Explanation:

The formula for the area of a circle is
\pi r^(2), r being the radius. The radius is always half of the diameter, so in this case, the radius is 4.
4^(2) is just 4 * 4 which is 16. Multiply that by π and you get 16π. Or, approximately 50.27 cm^2
