Explanation:

Substitute y = -2x+3 into the value of y in the second equation:

x + - 2x + 3 = 6

Subtract:

- x + 3 = 6

Subtract 3 from both sides:

- x = 3

Find the inverse, or divide by (-):

x = - 3

Substitute -3 into the first equation:

y = - 2( - 3) + 3

Multiply:

y = 6 + 3

Add:

y = 9
