Answer:

0.56 inches from the vertex of the canvas

Explanation:

Golden ratio can be interpreted as

B / A = ( A + B ) / B ----- ( 1 )

A = smaller side = 12 inches

B = larger side = 16 inches

Back to equation 1

16 / 12 = ( 16 + 12 ) / 16

4 / 3 ≠ 7 / 4

The Golden ratio can not be applied because the rule is not obeyed

The focal point can be determined as :

( longest width / 2 )= 12 / 2 = 6^ 2 = 36 ---- 2

(4* depth) = 16 * 4 = 64 ---- 3

hence the focal point ( 2 / 3 ) = 36 / 64 = 0.56 inches from the vertex of the canvas
