Easy way to find area: Diagonal 1 * Diagonal 2 divide by 2 = your answer

Diagonal 1 (AC) = 5 + 5 = 10

Diagonal 2 (BD) = 4 + 4 = 8

10 + 8 = 80, 80/2 = 40

Answer: 40 square units
