Answer:

A) (40 + 50) + (6 + 1) + (0.6 + 0.5) + (0.01 + 0.02)

Explanation:

In this case, you are breaking each term down to it's non-zero digits, and adding them:

46.61 = 40 + 6 + 0.6 + 0.01

51.52 = 50 + 1 + 0.5 + 0.02

Note however, that the answer choices add each individual non-zero terms together:

(40 + 50) + (6 + 1) + (0.6 + 0.5) + (0.01 + 0.02), or A)

A) (40 + 50) + (6 + 1) + (0.6 + 0.5) + (0.01 + 0.02) is your answer.
