Mary reduced the size of a painting to a width of 3.3in. What is the new height if it was originally 58.8in. tall and 39.6in. wide? Round to the nearest tenth.

Answer: 4.9 inches

Explanation:
39.6 / 3.3 = 12 That means that the painting’s width was reduced to 12 times less than the original size. Now we need to apply that to the length.

58.8 / 12 = 4.9

The new height is 4.9 inches.
