Lucas was spreading soil in the backyard. His backyard is 8 feet wide by 965 feet long. If each bag contains enough soil to cover 10 square feet of yard, how many bags should he buy?

Area of backyard
=L x W
=8 x 965
=7720 square ft

Number of bags needed
=Area of backyard/(Area covered
by 1 bag)
=7720/10
=772 bags

Therefore he should buy 772 bags
