Given:

The parallel sides of a trapezium are 28.7 cm and 22.3 cm.

The distance between parallel sides is 16 cm.

To find:

The area of a trapezium.

Solution:

The area of the trapezium is:

A=(a+b)/(2)h

Where,
a,b are parallel sides and
h is the vertical distance between the parallel sides.

Putting
a=28.7, b=22.3,h=16 in the above formula, we get

A=(28.7+22.3)/(2)*(16)

A=(51)/(2)* 16

A=51* 8

A=408

Therefore, the area of the trapezium is 408 square cm.
