Answer:

y = 4x - 47

Explanation:

Equation of a line:

The equation of a line has the following format:

y = mx + b

In which m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

Parallel lines:

When two lines are parallel, they have the same slope.

8x-2y=7

Placing into the format, we have thtt:

2y = 8x - 7

y = 4x - (7)/(2)

Slope of 4.

This means that the desired line has the following equation:

y = 4x + b

Point of (12,1)

This means that when
x = 12, y = 1

We use this to find b.

y = 4x + b

1 = 48 + b

b = -47

So, the line has the equation:

y = 4x - 47
