Recall that the leg opposite to 30° in a 30° - 60° - 90° triangle is always half the hypotenuse of that triangle

Now that we know that, we can find the hypotenuse of A:

  • 5√2 * 2
  • 10√2

The hypotenuse of A is 10√2

Recall that the hypotenuse in a right isosceles triangle is always the the length of one leg times √2

Since triangle A and B share the same hypotenuse, the hypotenuse of B is also 10√2

To find the measure of x:

  • Hypotenuse = leg * √2
  • 10√2 = x * √2
  • 10 = x
  • x = 10

x is 10
