Explanation:

Q1) If you sub in x as -1, 2 to the power of -1 is 0.5. You always solve the power first, not the multiplication. So then you do 0.5 times 4 and you get 2.

Q2) If you sub in x as 0, anything to the power of 0 becomes 1. 2 to the power of 0 is 1. Then you do the multiplication, 4 times 1 = 4
