Pretend you are asked to draw a parallelogram on the coordinate plane shown above. Three of its vertices are (-1, -6), (5, -4),

and (-1, -1). Which of the following is the coordinate of the fourth vertex?

Plot on graph

How to get 4th point?

Distance between first 2

  • -6+1=|-5|=5units..

It remains same

so

  • -4+5=1

Hence the coordinate is (5,1)

Answer:

\left(5,1\right)

Explanation:

  • In a parallelogram the length/side and the angles are same.
  • Draw and point the 3 coordinates and try the options point to check, if the shape is parallelogram and are equidistant by length and width.
  • Also notice two coordinates falls on x = -1 so this fourth coordinates shall have x = 5.
