Toyota = Honda + 81000 Honda needs 81000 more vehicles to catch Toyota

Toyota + Honda = 865000

Put Toyota from the first equation, into the second equation.

Honda + 81000 + honda = 865000 Subtract 81000 from both sides

-81000 -81000

Honda + Honda = 784000 Combine

2 Honda = 784000 Divide both sides by 2

/2 /2

Honda = 392000

Honda + Toyota = 865000

392000 + Toyota = 865000 Subtract 392000 each side

-392000 = -392000

Toyota = 473000
