3x = 2y - 8 -------------(II)

3x + 4y - 3x = 12 - (2y - 8)

3x - 3x +4y = 12 -2y +8

4y = 12 + 8 - 2y

4y +2y = 20

6y = 20

y = 20/6

y = 10/3
