lets type the equation in front of us and make it simple so we can deal with it

y-1=-5(x-4)

first thing you need to do is to remove those brackets by multiplying whats in the bracket by -5 like this

y-1=-5x+20 -5*x=-5,, -5*-4=20 (note: when you multiply negative with

negative result is positive)

then add each side by 1 so it will be

y=-5x+21
