Freneu describes Europe and the East in a rather negative way. He describes Europe as a despotic and proud continent in which the monarchy holds down the citizens and individuals. Freneu also points to the constant and ongoing wars being fought in Europe over the pride of the kings, and the resulting confusion and chaos.

The East is described in a similar way, as being half-consigned to slaves with the monarchy and religion enslaving the minds of the inhabitants.
