LM² = KL² + KM²

28² = 16² + KM²

784 = 256 + KM² ( subtract 256 from both sides )

528 = KM² ( take the square root of both sides )


√(528) = KM

Using the sine ratio in right triangle KMN

sin64° =
(opposite)/(hypotenuse) =
(KN)/(KM) =
(KN)/(√(528) ) ( multiply both sides by
√(528)


√(528) × sin64° = KN , that is

KN ≈ 20.7 cm ( to 1 dec. place )
