The height of the water in an above ground pool is 3 feet. The pool needs to be drained. As

the water drains, the height of the water changes at a rate of 2 inch per minute. Write and
solve an equation to find how many minutes it will take to drain the pool.
Remember: 1 foot = 12 inches

Explanation:

3 feet = 36 inches (12 x 3 = 36)

If the pool goes down 2 inches per minute, divide 36 by 2

36 ÷ 2 = 18
