Answer:

Tides are the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of gravitational forces exerted by the Moon and the Sun, plus the rotation of the Earth. Tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun. High and Low tides are caused by the moon. Spring tides occur twice each lunar month all year long without regard to the season. Neap tides, which also occur twice a month, happen when the sun and moon are at right angles to each other.
