y - 7 = 1/2(x - 7)

Explanation:

Point slope form is y - y1 = m (x - x1)

So find m = y2 - y1/ x2 - x1, so m = -1 - 7 / -9 - 7, m = -8 / -16 so m = 1/2

Then sub your (7,7) so y - 7 = 1/2(x - 7)

y-y1=m(x-x1)
x1 and y1 are coordinates of first point
x and y are coordinates of second point
(7,7) x1=7, y1=7
(-9,-1) x= -9, y= -1
-1-7=m(-9-7)
-8=m(-16)
-8= -16m multiply by -1
8=16m
m=8/16
m=1/2
