Why do you think plant cells need a cell wall as well as a cell membrane ?

Answer:

Because a major function of the cell wall is to act as pressure vessels, preventing over-expansion of the cell when water enters. The cell wall, along with the cell membrane, functions also as a filter and gives support to the cell
