Answer:

  • x = 4, a = 15, b = 4

Explanation:

Find the value of x:

  • P(triangle) = P(square)
  • 3(x + 4) = 4(x + 2)
  • 3x + 12 = 4x + 8
  • 4x - 3x = 12 - 8
  • x = 4

Find the value of a:

  • P(hexagon) = 12x
  • 6(1/2a + 1/2) = 12*4
  • 3a + 3 = 48
  • 3a = 45
  • a = 15

Assumed b is the side of the rectangle (it is not indicated on the picture)

Find the value of b:

  • A(rectangle) = A(square)
  • (x + 2)² = b(a - 6)
  • (4 + 2)² = b(15 - 6)
  • 36 = 9b
  • b = 4
