Answer:

The ratio of length to width of a rectangle is 5:2,

So let take length is 5y and width is 2y.

If the perimeter of the rectangle is 42

perimeter of the rectangle = 42

2(length + width) =42

2(5y + 2y) =42

2(7y)=42

14y =42

y= 42/14

y= 3

so,

length is 5y = 5x3 =15

width is 2y. = 2x3 =6
