√8 can be simplified to √(4)(2) , since 4 x 2 still equals 8. But now, 4 is a perfect sqaure, and whenever we get a perfect sqaure, we divided it by its root and put that number on the outside.

For ex: √32 = √(16)(2), since 16 x 2 = 32. 16 is a perfect sqaure, so we take its root and put it on the outside 4√2 ,

Now with this one, we'll do the same thing: √(4)(2) = 2√2
