Multiplication is the same as repeated addition.

So, let us take an example for a better understanding :

`(2)/(3) * 4`

Looks more like this :

`(2)/(3)+(2)/(3) +(2)/(3) = (2)/(3) =(8)/(3)`

[ If you add them up, we will get the same answer if we multiply it ]

Same as
`(2)/(3) *(4)/(1) =(8)/(3)`

On the other hand if you have whole numbers that you need to solve like
`3 * 4`this means that
`3` is added
`4` times

`3 + 3+ 3+ 3 = 12`

Which would be the same thing as

`3 * 4 = 12`
