I'd say care is reserved for people who you are closer to while you should respect everyone.

Care is like caring for others and just things in general. you could care about a certain thing or someone. Respect is more like manners ig you could say, it’s being polite (saying thank you, please, your welcome etc) hope that makes sense :)
