Explanation: For this question you’ll be combining each side.

4w+8=6w-4

1. You’ll want to do the opposite of what your factor already is so, positive 4w will become -4w. Subtract 4 from 4, subtract 4 from six and you now have 2w.

2. Next, you’ll need to rewrite your new equation (8+2w-4) mind you *4 is cancelled out since we subtracted it from itself*.

3. Add four on each side now, so you’ll have (12+2w) and no more 4 because we ADDED to the variant.

4. Last but not least, you’ll want to divide each side, but only BY the variable. So it would be 12/2 and 2/2, and you get your answer ..

Answer = 6
