Question:

In triangle FGH, the measure of angle H = 90°, HG = 48, FH = 55, and GF = 73. What ratio represents the tangent of angle G?

Solution:

The triangle FGH should look like that in the attachment.

Tangent of angle G = opposite side/adjacent side

= FH/HG

= 55/48
