3/4 + 1/2

To add fractions, you need a common denominator so multiply 2 1/2 by 2 to have both fractions denominator 4.

3/4 + 2/4 and now simply add 3 and 2 and keep the same denominator. Which gives you 5/4 but since it’s importer fraction, you need to simplify it and turn it into mixed fraction which is 1 1/4.
