Answer: 5.184 N

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

The charge on the balloon is
q_1=-6* 10^(-6)\ C

distance between balloon and jeans is
r=0.25\ m

After rubbing jeans must acquire the same opposite charge i.e.

q_2=6* 10^(-6)\ C

The electrostatic force between them

\Rightarrow F=(kq_1q_2)/(r^2)\\\\\Rightarrow F=(9* 10^9* 6* 10^(-6)* 6* 10^(-6))/(0.25^2)\\\\ \Rightarrow F=4* 4* 9* 36* 10^(-3)=5.184\ N

nature of force will be attractive i.e. Jeans will try to pull the balloon
