The formatting is quite weird since there is no * for multiplication and only x's which can confuse people between the multiplication sign and the variable. In general, try to use * for multiplication in the future! :)

Evaluate inside the parentheses:

Assuming the x on top is multiplication and xy 3 meanings 3 times xy:

(4*2/3xy)^2

= (8/3xy)^2

= [8/(3)(4)(2)]^2

= (8/24)^2

= (1/3)^2

= 1/9
