Susanna found a roll of fabric she wanted to use to make a pillow. The roll has 3/4 of a yard of fabric left. Susanna needed 5/12 of the remaining fabric. Which fraction represents how much fabric Susanna needed?

4/12 or simplified 1/3
get the common denominator first
3/4 multiply both numbers but 3 so the denominator can equal 12
3/4 turns into 9/12
she needed 5/12 fabric
9-5=4
keep the denominator
4/12
