so there are 36 students
the ratio of boys to girls is 5:7

unit ratio: 36/12=3

Number of boys with ratio 5
3•5=15 boys

Number of girls in with ratio 7
3•7=21 girls

21-15=6 (subtract the two totals)

The number of girls more than boys in the play will be 6.
