The way I understand (remember) the problem is....

you want to evaluate h(x) by substituting 2 in for x's

then substitute the value for h(2) into f(x) to get the answer

evalute f(h(2)) by following the parentheses

h(x) = x² - 3x - 4 evaluate when x = 2

h(2) = 2² - 3(2) - 4

= 4 - 6 - 4

h(2) = -6 so now -6 is the new x in the f(x) equation

f(x) = 3x - 6

f(-6) = 3(-6) - 6

= -18 - 6

= -24

so f(h(2)) = -24
