Is there a mechanism other than plate tectonics that could account for the distribution of Triassic Period fossils? Explain why or why not.

Answer: In theory it's possibly but not likely

Explanation: In theory if Wegener's Theory and the theory of Pangaea and the continental drift theory and the theory of plate tectonics is correct then it could be possible that there is a mechanism other than plate tectonics that could account for the distribution of Triassic Period fossils but not likely.
