As horrific as it seems the atomic bombs did ultimately end the war, nobody will know what would have happened if we didn't bomb Japan. It is argued that by dropping the atomic bombs we saved more lives, as more people would have died in the future. In my opinion, the United States of America was in the right to drop the bomb, as Japan was relentless with all of the other axis powers were dropping out of the war, Japan remained in the war and wouldn't stop fighting. Realistically Japan would have lost the war, but it was an act of partial revenge for the United States for Pearl Harbor.
