Answer:

The number of bulbs planted in the garden having side length of 8 feet is 320.

Explanation:

Given as :

The side length of square shaped garden = x ft

The number of tulip bulbs Cindy's will plant at per square foot = n = 5

Let The number of bulb to be panted for side length of garden = L = 8 feet

Now, According to question

Since the garden is of square shaped ,

So, The area of garden = area of square = side²

I,e The area of garden = x × x ft²

Now, if the side length = L = 8 feet

So, The area of garden = L × L ft²

I.e The area of garden = 8 × 8 ft² = 64 square feet

Now, Again

∵ For the area of 1 square feet , the number of bulbs planted = 5

∴ For the area of 64 square feet , the number of bulbs planted = 5 × 64

I.e For the area of 64 square feet , the number of bulbs planted = 320

Hence The number of bulbs planted in the garden having side length of 8 feet is 320 . Answer
