A rectangular paperboard measuring 22 in long and 14 in wide has a semicircle cut out of it, as shown below.
Find the area of the paperboard that remains. Use the value 3.14 for pi, and do not round your answer. Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer.

Answer: 231.07 m^2

Explanation:

Area of the remaining paperboard = Area of the entire paperboard - Area of semicircle

1. area of paperboard = l*b = 22*14 = 308 m^2

2. area of semi circle = 1/2 pi r^2 = 1/2*3.14*49/2

Therefore, area of remaining paperboard = 231.07 m^2
