55 cm²

Explanation:

side length of square = perimeter/4 = 40/4 = 10 cm.

area of square = side x side = 10 x 10 = 100 cm²

area of triangle #1 = 1/2bh = 1/2(3)(10) = 15

area of triangle #2 = 1/2bh = 1/2(6)(10) = 30

100 - 15 - 30 = 55 cm²
