The shaded area (A) is calculated as

A = area of sector - area of right triangle

area of sector = area of circle × fraction of circle

A = πr² ×
(90)/(360)

= π × 8² ×
(1)/(4) = 64π ×
(1)/(4) = 16π m²

area of triangle =
(1)/(2) × 8 × 8 = 4 × 8 = 32 m²

shaded area is then

A = 16π - 32 ≈ 18.3 m² ( to the nearest tenth )
