Answer:

area of rectangle [A]=l×b=12×16=192unit²

area of another rectangle [B]=l×b=12×16=192unit²

area of triangle [C]=1/2 b×h =1/2 ( 12×16)=96unit²

for circle

diameter =√(12²+16²)=20unit

area of semi circle [D]=1/2(π(d/2)²)

=1/8×π×20²=157.14unit²

the area of the figure :A+B+C+D=192+192+96+157.14=637.14unit²

There are 4 different shapes.

Rectangle 1: area = length x width

Area = 12 x 16 = 192 square units

Rectangle 2 has the same dimensions so 12 x 16 = 192 square units

Triangle : area =‘1/2 x base x height.

Base = 16 height = 12

Area = 1/2 x 16 x 12 = 96 square units

Semi circle: find diameter which would be the hypotenuse of the triangle.

12 ^2 + 16^2 = diameter^2

144 + 256 = d^2

400 =!d^2

Square both sides d = 20

Area of semi circle = 1/2 x pi x r^2

R is half the diameter = 10

Area = 1/2 x 3.14 x 10^2

Area = 157 square units.

Total area is the sum of the 4 shapes:

192 + 192 + 96 + 157 = 637 square units.
