What we have to do is to replace x by -6

If what we have on the left equals that on the right, then -6 is a solution

Thus, we have it that;

3(2(-6) -8)

= 3(-12-8)

= 3(-20) = -60

for the right hand side

-4 (15) = -60

This means both sides are equal and that -6 is a solution
