\huge \colorbox{pink}{Question }

solve this system using substitution x+5y=-32 y=3x

Substitute 3x for y in x + 5y = - 32

x + 5y = - 32 \\ x + 5(3x) = - 32 \\ x + 15x = - 32 \\ 16x = - 32 \\ (16x)/(16) = ( - 32)/(16) \\ x = - 2

Substitute - 2 for for x in y = 3x

y = 3x \\ y = 3( - 2) \\ y = - 6

\huge \colorbox{pink}{Answer}

x = - 2

y = - 6

Hope it helps ^_^
