Industrialization has been instrumental in the economic development of the world. The process has improved productivity and allowed for mass production, which has increased standards of living.

Im gonna give you my “guess” but I believe it benefitted the union as they were more technologically advanced at the time because of their rail roads and manufacturing . And at the time the confederate south focused on agriculture so there was barely any manufacturing. This large industry helped the north also in production of firearms and maintain a stronger economy. Ik this is a bit general but I barely remember APUSH that well . Hope it helps a bit.
